As case managers, we can be deeply ethical, compassionate, and effective at work without letting unresolved cases follow us home into motherhood, fatherhood, partnerships, marriages, friendships and caregiving. This will be a presentation on how to reframe burnout with practical strategies to avert moral injury.


Dr. Melanie A. Prince served as the 2020-2022 national President of Case Management Society of America (CMSA). She is a retired Air Force Colonel who was instrumental in the implementation of case management, utilization management and disease management throughout the Department of Defense. She is Chief Executive Officer, BioGals, Nonprofit Organization, Care Associates Consulting and MAPyourWAY, LLC. Dr. Prince also serves as a program manager for a medical staffing company in support of the Department of Homeland Security.
