About the event

In honor of National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, this session equips healthcare providers with essential knowledge to recognize and respond to human trafficking in clinical settings. With millions of victims worldwide and most interacting with healthcare during their exploitation, providers play a critical role in identification and safe intervention. Through real case examples, current data, and a review of key legal and ethical responsibilities, attendees will learn the indicators of trafficking, barriers to self-disclosure, and practical, trauma-informed strategies for supporting victims. This session empowers participants to take meaningful action, strengthen reporting pathways, and uphold the healthcare system’s responsibility in the fight against trafficking.
